  • FADE Kickoff - Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 6-8 PM @ Olympic Branch
  • Want to learn how to design your own cool projects? Want to know how to model, prototype, manufacture, and make your ideas come to life with electronics? Want to meet new friends and join a community dedicated to the creative design process? If that sounds good to you, come to Fabrication and Design Essentials (FADE)! We look forward to seeing everyone interested in learning engineering and improving their hands-on skills. You do not have to have completed Phase 1 to join, we accept new members throughout the year! Our Winter Kickoff Meeting will be Wednesday, January 17th (Week 2) at the Olympic Branch (across from the Olympic Makerspace) from 6 - 8 PM. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, join our discord!
  • Combat Robotics Kickoff - Thursday, January 11, 2024, 6-7 PM
  • This quarter we will be focusing on manufacturing, and are going to hit the ground running! Please work on finalizing your bots for final design reviews this weekend. This week's meeting will be in the upstairs makerspace where we will have a soldering workshop and begin wiring some of your bot's electronics.
  • Flagship Combat Robotics Kickoff - Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 8 - 9 PM @ ASME Lounge
  • Welcome back from break everyone!! We'll be having a GM this week to go over progress from winter break, the timeline for this quarter, and do an overview of the tools available for manufacturing at UCLA. We'll also be having a workday this Sunday in the ASME lab, there's plenty of hands on work to do so definitely come out if you're available!

  • X1 Robotics Kickoff - Thursday, January 11, 2024, 7-8 PM @ ASME Lounge (Boelter 2763)
  • X1 is starting back up again this Thursday the 11th with our general meeting at 7PM in the ASME Lounge. Come see how you can help build WALL-E or design Surgical RoboTechnician! This is a great opportunity to learn some unique engineering skills. All are welcome and no experience is necessary!

  • Transfer Opportunities:
  • Open positions: Outreach Committee, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee

ASME provides technical, social, professional development, outreach, and mentorship opportunities to engineers at UCLA. Our five technical projects consist of Fabrication and Design essentials, Lightweight Combat Robotics, Heavyweight Combat Robotics, Bruin Underwater Robotics, and X1 Robotics. All of these projects are open to all with no robotics or engineering experience necessary.
